- Watershed Work Funded: The Wren subbasin received $3,600 from GWEB to fund their water quality monitoring efforts. MRWC received promise of $20,500 from GWEB for conducting the watershed analysis of the Marys River Watershed. Updates and reports will be shared as progress is made.
- Louise Solliday from the Governor's Watershed Program to visit May 6 Council Meeting: At the April 1 council meeting there were many questions regarding the state of the Governor's Salmon Plan, and the current controversy between the Governor and the National Marine Fisheries Service regarding the Oregon Forest Practices Act. Ms. Solliday will be at the May 6 council meeting to address these and other questions from council members.
- Council agrees to seek funds to continue coordinator position through October 1999: The Steering Committee recommended, and the council agreed through the consensus process (with a quorum present), that Sandra Coveny will apply for a GWEB grant to fund a second year of the coordinator position, and that if funded, she will continue as the coordinator through October 1999.
