Steering Committee
Bill Pearcy reviewed the November 27th meeting minutes including discussion of the budget, money in the Citizen’s bank accounts; results of the coordinator’s evaluation & upcoming events.

Coordinator’s evaluation was largely supportive and positive. They uggested that the coordinator report more thoroughly at each meeting so everyone understands her workload, not just the steering committee.

They discussed looking for funding for a paid coordinator of volunteer.  Water Quality grant is currently supporting a part time administrative assistant.

Culvert Committee
Went and saw culvert replacements on county roads. A proposal was submitted to OWEB by the MRWC culvert committee, and has been funded.  The grant is being administered by the SWCD who hired a staff person to survey culvert data and compile it in a useable form. We will be getting updates from Benton SWCD as this project progresses.

COORDINATOR REPORT (Sandra Coveny)

• Marge Stevens has taken over as treasurer, is helping to put together a monthly budget report
• Found two OSU interns for Water Quality monitoring work and some administrative work.
• Working on how to work with committees to move from identification of goals, in to action
• Working on a proposal for NOAA based on prior action grant submitted to OWEB. Process changed midstream now we are hoping to receive funds from NOAA. The funding source comes from collaboration on a 3 year grant for Regional Initiatives between OWEB, Willamette Watershed Initiative (WRI), NOAA-NMFS that is making $100,000 vailiable this year, plus $750,000 over the next 2 years for Willamette Basin Watershed councils, specifically for assessments and action plans
• The coordinator keeps personal records to document her time, but reminded the council that her contract is task oriented, and is finding that often means she works overtime.

AMERICAN FISHERIES SOCIETY RESTORATION WORKSHOP

Bill Pearcy and Wade Trevathan reported to the council about the American Fisheries Society restoration workshop they attended in Eugene in November.  They had rave reviews and have materials from the workshop containing a lot of information on speaker presentations and other information.

VALUES AND MEASURES WORKSHOP PART II:

Introduction by Bob Zybach 
Other panel guests:  Paul Jepson, OSU, Jeffery Tryens, OPB Rick Bastach WRI Sharon Cartwright (OSU extension)

Summary:

• Bob Zybach offered feedback on the workshop, Jeff Tryens and Rick Bastach handed out great information resources from the Oregon Progress Board (OPB) and the Willamette River Initiative (WRI); Including the 2000 Oregon State of the Environment Report and a cd-rom on the Willamette River Initiative.
