| 7:20 | Joann Taylor: Proposed Bellfountain Road-HWY 99 Connection. This proposed connection threatens two fields and wetlands, and Muddy Creek. Joann is heading up an effort to encourage citizens to participate in the public comment process, and would like the support of the council. Joann would like the council to write a letter to the Benton County Commissioners stating its position, and asking that a bridge be built over muddy Creek instead of a merely placing culverts under the road. |

WHERE:
Meet at the Willamette Grange, on the corner of 99 and Greenberry Rd. (the turn off for Tyee Vineyards). This turn is about 7 miles South of Corvallis. From there, we'll head to Dave Buchanan's land at Tyee Winery, and park in the upper lot.
TOPICS:
1. Dave Buchanan will take us around his property and point out some ongoing projects and practices. These likely include: a riparian area tree planting, trying to change exotic grass species composition on his wetlands, and addressing beaver and mice.
2. Jeff Spencer, the Watershed Specialist for Benton County, will run us through a sample stream survey on either Beaver or Muddy Creek using GWEB's protocol.
